Integration preparation

Five things to prepare before integration

Bring equipment, interfaces and acceptance scenarios into a set of materials both teams can review together.

Use the checklist

Equipment and source systems

Identify what will connect. Record suppliers, models and source systems so the inventory can be matched to equipment on site.

Prepare
Device identifiers, suppliers, models and source systems.

Protocols, documents and permissions

Confirm available protocols, interface documents and access rights. Review data reads and write operations separately, including authorization scope and the teams involved.

Prepare
Protocols and versions, interface documents, permitted calls and an authorization contact.

Points, units and sampling

Record point identifiers, meanings, units, sampling intervals and read/write permissions. Check whether matching names refer to the same object.

Prepare
Representative points with their original identifiers, units, sampling intervals and permissions.

Network and deployment conditions

Describe the site network, deployment environment and security boundaries. Confirm connection conditions between equipment and the platform, and the site support needed.

Prepare
Network connections, deployment locations, access scope and site delivery conditions.

Business needs and acceptance material

Choose one real business problem. Explain who needs which data, what they expect to see and how the result will be checked.

Prepare
A representative scenario, expected display or processing result, verification method and participants.

CSV

Point-list template

Keep the six columns for point, system, device, unit, sampling interval and permission. Start with one representative record.

Filled example: EM-01 identifies an electricity meter; 60 is the sampling interval in seconds.

File contents
point_id,system,device,unit,sampling_seconds,permission
A1-EM01-energy,metering,EM-01,kWh,60,read
Field definitions
FieldMeaningComplete and check
point_idPoint identifierMatch the source point list and distinguish individual data points on a device.
systemSource systemmetering identifies the metering system. Use the actual source when completing the file.
deviceDevice identifierMatch EM-01 to the same object in the equipment inventory.
unitMeasurement unitkWh represents cumulative electrical energy. Check the quantity and unit before using or comparing data.
sampling_secondsSampling interval in seconds60 means one sample every 60 seconds. Agree this against actual interface capabilities.
permissionAccess permissionread means read-only. Writes or control operations require separately confirmed authorization.

These six columns describe the basic point information. Prepare protocol documents, network conditions and acceptance material alongside them.

Bring representative points to discuss the connection scope.

Share existing equipment, protocol permissions and the data you need. Review interfaces and delivery conditions together.
